These doors when open usually have a round of a third of the door protruding from the front of the garage, creating a canopy, they are one of the most commonly used doors within the uk, however automating these doors isn’t always an easy task, because of the way they are designed to lift, these door use one long spring across the top of the door on the inside of the garage, a cable either end comes down to a fixed spindles and as the door lifts the cables winds itself around a cone at the top of the door, new designs today have safe antidrop spindles fitted so that in years to come when a cable should finally perish, the door won’t suddenly fall on your head or upon your car.
